a moment of the common

A toast: simple, plain___

I continue with a vocal

nod in direct contact

with the curls of her opinions.

A treat, yes?

But what is holding

me back?

I relax, and take the time

to arrive at a space between

the contours of my existence:

suspended amongst  predictions

and curiosities.

I sort through it all, concentrating

on discovering a helpful tidbit of information

which steals the electricity from

the light overhead.

I speak no more,

but rather,

try to smile in unison.

  1. What an interesting scene you create within your poem…enjoyed reading it.
